[ Tankers In GW ]
We all know that warriors do massive amounts of DMG. But in GW, what are considered tanks in GW? For say a party and you wanted to rush in and grab all the argo while your party nukes them.
Are warriors considered to be tanks? Or an Earth Ele etc? |

Generally, the best thing to bring (for the moment) is an Assassin that maintains Shadow Form, which gives protection from nearly all sources of damage, hexes, and other spells and attacks. Other popular options are Terra Tanks, Earth Elementalists with Obsidian Flesh and damage reduction to significantly mitigate damage. You can also throw on Sliver Armor and other skills for some decent damage.

Just grab an Imbagon and you're WHOLE team can "tank". +100AL party wide (minus yourself) + 33% dmg reduction = who needs a dedicated tank?
But if you must do things your way then I suppose Shadowform Sins are what you are looking for at the moment. However it will be nerfed soon so perhaps an Ob Flesh tank would be your next best bet. Assuming Ob Flesh doesn't get shafted too when the upcoming updates roll along. Take my first suggestion though. Find an Imbagon. Last edited by byteme!; Jan 29, 2010 at 11:57 PM // 23:57.. |

In GW you don't need a tank per say, while you can bring a tank, a few melee (war, derv, sin) and a prot/heal monk are a better option. And of course a SY paragon.

Anet is always nerfing stuff. Came back after 1-2 years and hundred blades got nerfed. I don't know what the reason was, but it was never over powered. The new version of HB is so lame... Might as well not make it as an Elite skill. Some are for the good, but some are just dumb! This is the only thing i hate about this game. Once someone finds a good way to use a skill or whatever, it gets dumbed down. Because all skills are useful in their own ways if used correctly, might as well dumbed down all the skills..
better yet, just stick to the weapons and no skills at all. That will make everyone happier.. damn Anet i bet most of the nerfing came from noobs always crying like babies.. I never had problems with any of the skills used against mobs/players or them using on me... Last edited by tlee; Jan 30, 2010 at 04:43 AM // 04:43.. |

Tinker around some more with the skill, you'll start to enjoy it once again (hint: Whirlwind Attack, Mark of Pain)

Maybe, but they're not the only one.

Best tanks I've found are pets and minions - they can keep the enemies busy while you kill them. Btw, tanking isn't regarded as a particularly good idea in GW anyway. |
